Robin Hood Tax
7 April 2010
The recession has made poverty worse both in the UK and abroad. We are already seeing the impact of this in the countries where we are working. In response, we have joined a collation of development agencies, anti-poverty groups, environmental organisations, faith bodies and trade unions to call for a Robin Hood Tax.
The Robin Hood Tax is a tiny tax on banks, hedge funds and other financial institutions that would raise billions to tackle poverty and climate change, both here and internationally. Y Care International believes that this would help ease the poverty and marginalisation suffered by millions of young people in the developing world.
