Where we work

Y Care International works in over 20 countries worldwide, in partnership with local YMCAs in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean and the Middle East. Our work focuses on the needs of disadvantaged people in developing countries, helping them to develop alternatives to a future of poverty and lack of opportunity. In the UK and Ireland, Y Care International is one of the biggest providers of global youth work.

    The YMCA has been present in Colombia since 1963. It supports former child soldiers and works to prevent at-risk children from ending up on the streets.

    Y Care International has been working in Madagascar since 2006. Our current project aims to reduce the risk of vulnerable young people contracting HIV/AIDS.

    The YMCA has been present in the OPT since 1949. It runs a post-conflict rehabilitation project for disabled young people in Beit Sahour and a vocational training programme for young people in Jericho.

    Y Care International currently partners with the ACT Alliance and Church World Service in Pakistan. In 2010 Y Care International launched an emergency appeal to support flood-affected communities. Donations were channelled through CWS.
