Togo YMCA held an awareness raising event in Lomé, the capital of Togo. Around 350-400 people from local communities attended the event.
Throughout the afternoon, the audience heard speeches from the President and National General Secretary of the YMCA to introduce the Youth Justice in Action Campaign. The event also included drama performances by YMCA youth volunteers and a local drama group, and music by well-known local artists. Messages were read by children and young people on child rights and youth justice issues in Togo.
The event was run by youth volunteers from both the YMCA and other international organisations in Togo, who are responsible for coordinating campaign activities. The local media were present and a live radio interview was broadcast on local radio station, Nana FM to increase awareness about the aims of the campaign.
