Programme Development

Programme development is at the heart of our relationship with partners. We aim to support our partners to implement high quality projects in the communities where they operate. Partners often ask us how we decide which projects to support. While decisions are based on many factors, we are always drawn back to our mission and vision which explicitly focuses on the poorest and most disadvantaged young people in society. The second biggest factor in deciding on which projects to support are whether they fit into one of our thematic areas. These are detailed in the Programme Themes section. 

In addition to these thematic areas, we expect all projects to incorporate: youth participation; gender mainstreaming; a rights-based approach and advocacy. In this section, you can read more about these four elements. You will also find a range of guidelines and tools which will assist you with programme development.
